Canadiana Christmas Gifts

A Hudson’s Bay Company mini catalogue just passed by my desk. It features the “Company Collection“, inspired by the history and character of the company, and I have to say, this stuff is great. If you have not been to your local Bay lately, you should go. I know I should be shopping for others at this time of the year, but this collection is on my holiday wish list!

The classic Point Blanket has been on my Christmas list for a couple years running. I have said it before and I will say it again, this blanket is an heirloom, and with its range of colours, it could pretty an interior come cool winter weather. Twin, $275; Full, $325; Queen, $375; King, $475. Fringed Caribou throws are also available for $150.

The hand-knitted Infants Sweater. My adopted nanna, Mrs. Ruler, was an avid knitter, and I grew up with a new ski sweater every winter (and matching mittens and a hat). Anyhow, this sweater feels like a version of those lovely sweaters, and I can imagine wearing it for years and years. Available in five sizes, $50.

The Omer Stringer Paddle. Nothing looks more fitting on the wall of a cottage than a gorgeous well-loved canoe paddle. I love the one with the creamy-coloured handle. Available in 57″ and 60″, $149.
