Curbside Find

January 16, 2013

I must admit, I really have no shame when it comes to scoring a great decorative find or piece of furniture from the side of the road. The saying "one man's trash is a another man's treasure" could not ring more true about this beautiful chair I found sitting on the curb while heading home from work. It's not marked, so I'm not sure who made it or if it's an original, but with its great mid-century lines and low, low price of zero dollars, it was a keeper!

The upholstery isn't in the best shape and to be honest, I think it's a good idea to have "found" items like this either professionally cleaned or reupholstered. That's the plan for this chair. I'm thinking a navy blue woven wool fabric and I'll keep the frame as is. The plan is to give this chair a new lease on life without taking away from its already timeless appeal.

I also have to find a spot to put it in my already chair-filled home. Stayed tuned for the end result!
