Family Day

This year marks the fourth anniversary of Family Day in Ontario — but what can you do as a family to keep every one entertained? Good news, decorating fans: Monday, February 21 is Family Day presented by Rogers at the National Home Show presented by RE/MAX at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place in Toronto. On Family Day, all kids under 17 will get in free courtesy of Rogers. Regular price for those 13 to 17 at the door is $12, so it’s quite the savings, especially if you have more than one child. (Purchase your adult tickets here to save $6, too.)

Free face painting and a chance to see Bob the Builder will keep tots cheery, and family-focused presentations ensure that you can stick together, too. Check out kid-focused booths, including Here’s My Baby!, The Toy Space and The Playdium Store. Or, take advantage of complimentary daycare, available for kids two- to ten-years-old on this day only, supervised by The Network Childcare Services.

There will be plenty of eye candy for adults on this day and throughout the show’s run from February 18 to 27th, too. For instance, The Boulevard of Dreams, presented by the Toronto Star, includes three revolutionary home environments linked by 20,000 square feet worth of gardens, giving families a chance to explore different styles and ideas in an exciting way.

Visit stylist Janette Ewen’s exhibit, the 2011 Product Gallery presented by Enbridge Gas. Stroll through the booths of 700 exhibitors, as well as a new neighbourhood marketplace, featuring Ontario businesses showcasing their home, fashion and jewelry accessories. Take in celebrity presentations, too, including designer Jackie Morra, HGTV host Wendy Russell and designer Glen Peloso.
