Okay, for those of you who don’t know, I’m a huge Martha Stewart fan. I mean, she practically reinvented the shelter magazine genre, and she’s certainly stamped North America with her distinct brand of gracious living. Well, I was recently sitting at my in-laws’ breakfast table when I learned that Martha was coming to Toronto for Canada Blooms. I slammed my hands on the table — I had to meet her!

Fast forward one week and I did — I met Martha Stewart (oh my gosh!!!) as part of an interview for House & Home’s June 2010 issue (and was thoroughly smitten!). Martha visited Canada Blooms to launch her new line of affordable products for The Home Depot. Of course, everything has that classic Martha spin, so I know Canadians will be snapping up her wares post haste. They’re on shelves now, so get over to The Home Depot! More are coming in the future too!

For your garden, Martha is offering bulbs, tubers and rhizomes for classic garden plants such as peonies and gladioli.

Also for the garden are these lovely and subtle, sisal-inspired outdoor area rugs with crisp borders. They’re so nice, I’d use one indoors!

A simple and understated birdbath — the perfect focal point for a garden. Plunk one in the centre of your yard and build the gardens symmetrically around it.

Aren’t these the cutest seed packages in the world?! All the seeds and plants are organically produced and feature some hard to find, old-fashioned varieties. I’ll take ‘em all!

For the inside of your home, Martha’s team has designed some lovely lamps. More designs are on the way, but these first ones are a great start. Love the limed-oak look of this Baluster table lamp. (And the super nice shade.)

This Buffet Lamp hits on the rustic/industrial trend with its burnished metal patina. So adorable in pairs! For a night stand? Desk? Yes, please!

Finally, what would Martha’s brand be without colour? In our interview, she said it’s part of Martha Stewart Living’s DNA. Well, with that in mind, Martha has selected all of the most lovely, sophisticated shades for you to use at home in her new line of paints. The colour chips will even feature coordinating colour combinations. It’s like your home’s colours were chosen by Martha herself! Love the colour of the cans — classic Martha — so, when you’re navigating the sea of orange at The Home Depot, just look out for the wall of blue! Couldn’t be easier.

Here is Martha at Canada Blooms doing a gardening demo. She showed off her new boots purchased at the show. And look at all of those seeds!
Bye-bye, Martha! Until the next time you’re in Canada! Sigh…
