I think this is a great bed. It’s simple but interesting, and certainly gives a nod to classic mid-century modern furniture. This is the Case Study Alpine Bed by Modernica and I think its inspiration comes from one of my favourite mid-century pieces, the Eames Molded Plywood Chair by Herman Miller.
The bed was designed by Jay Novak at Modernica and it’s made from structural bent laminated beech wood and North American walnut veneer. Modernica says the bentwood supports are probably the largest pieces of bentwood ever used in furniture. That’s pretty cool!
