I have a thing for baskets, and as we all know, there are TONS of storage baskets out there. From wicker to rattan, water hyacinth to woven grass, the choice is yours. So I thought I would pull together some of my favourite soft storage baskets. These are great, not only for storing miscellaneous items, but if they’re no longer needed for everyday storage, they can be folded down and stored themselves!

These hand-knitted storage baskets are from Danish company Ferm Living. They are made from 100% cotton rope and available in really great colours like charcoal, yellow and petrol. I love the chunky knit — they look sturdy yet soft at the same time.

Measuring in at 6” wide and 7” high, the Leaf Tree Storage Boxes from Bookhou would be great in an office for miscellaneous desk accessories, or on a shelf in a kid’s room to keep toys off the floor.

This woven felt basket has always been a favourite of mine. It is made of strips of super strong industrial felt woven together in a traditional basket-weave style. This would be a fantastic choice for storing wood logs by a fireplace.

Ikea’s Komplement woven baskets are a great option for the bathroom. Made of 100% polypropylene, these baskets will stand up in moist environments.

Here is another felt option by Parkhaus Berlin. These nested baskets are simple in design but come in some fantastic colours including bright yellow, orange and green! To learn how to make your own felt bowls, check out my DIY Online TV how-to.
