Trend Three: Simple Scandi

Take pared-down Nordic style and add a little Japanese influence to create a peaceful retreat.

We're craving peace and quiet, and that's apparent with today's trend toward understated Scandinavian interiors. These spaces are great for a serene organizer with the patience to decorate piece by heirloom-quality piece, and the will to live clutter-free. Mix light and dark by painting the doors black in a white room, or combining wood tones. Add textural accents like rope, horn or paper and swap out fluffier textiles for soft, washed linen. Then edit, edit, edit!
