
These fruity muffins, featured on H&H Online TV, make a lovely holiday gift. Get the kids involved in preparing this simple recipe.
Quart-Size Jar Ingredients
From top to bottom:
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup chopped dried cherries
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup instant oatmeal
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
In addition to the contents of the jar, you will need to add the following ingredients:
1 cup vanilla-flavoured yogurt
1/4 cup vegetable oil, such as canola
1 egg
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Step 2: Place all of the jar ingredients in a medium-sized bowl and stir until well combined. Set aside.
Step 3: Place yogurt, oil, and egg in a large bowl and blend well.
Step 4: Add dry ingredients to the yogurt mixture and stir.
Step 5: Spoon the batter into greased or papered muffin tins, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
Step 6: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean. Allow to cool.
Step 6: Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
