Hints of lichee, cranberry and vanilla make this savoury summer cocktail a refreshing alternative to same-old martinis. This one, developed by mixologists at the Hotel InterContinental Toronto Yorkville, is named for Ernestine's Women's Shelter, which helps women and children escape violent situations.
Bury vanilla beans in granulated sugar and store in an airtight container for two weeks.
Step 1: Combine drink ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until ice cold.
Step 2: Strain into a chilled vanilla sugar-rimmed martini glass. Garnish with fresh summer fruit. Enjoy!
