An update on the traditional Italian drink from William Yeoward's American Bar. "This is surely the Italian cocktail par excellence. Its flavour is a splendid fusion of sweetness, spiciness and bitterness, giving it a particular kind of "strength" that Agostino considers to be a reflection of the Italian character. An added reason why I enjoy it so much may be to do with its appearance. As someone with a passion for colour, I find it really hits the spot in that department. Or perhaps, secretly, I'm just a little bit Italian!"
1 oz. Martini Rosso vermouth
1 oz. gin
1 oz. Campari
Orange wedges for garnish
Step 1: Fill an old fashioned glass with ice.
Step 2: Pour in the ingredients and gently stir. Garnish with the orange wedges.
