
A long-time House & Home favourite, these chocolate-caramel cookies are great for holiday entertaining or Christmas parties.
2-1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup white sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
75 Rolo chewy caramels
White chocolate and walnut halves for garnish (optional)
Step 1: Combine flour, cocoa and baking soda.
Step 2: In separate bowl, beat sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs.
Step 3: Stir in flour/cocoa mixture.
Step 4: Chill dough for 1 hour.
Step 5: Shape about 1-1/2 tsp of dough around a Rolo, making sure Rolo is completely covered.
Step 6: Place on ungreased cookie sheet and chill for 1 hour.
Step 7: Bake 7-8 minutes at 375ºF.
Step 8: Cool on wire rack.
Makes 75 cookies
