A cool drink idea from William Yeoward's American Bar. "In spring 2011, I was asked, along with two or three friends, to decorate a banquet table in our village to celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. It was an exciting time nationwide, and people came up with all kinds of tributes, including this cocktail invented by Daniel Baernreuther at the Savoy. When I dropped by the hotel's bar the week before the wedding, I couldn't resist trying it. It captured the mood perfectly."
1/2 bar spoon Green Chartreuse
1/2 bar spoon maraschino liqueur
3/4 oz. Martini Rosso vermouth
3/4 oz. Bombay Sapphire gin
1 bar spoon gomme syrup
Champagne, ice cold
Orange twist for garnish
Step 1: Pre-chill a coupe glass.
Step 2: Pour all the ingredients, except the Champagne, over ice in a mixing jug. Stir. Strain into the glass.
Step 3: Top up with the Champagne and garnish with the orange twist.
