Green beans or brussel sprouts with pork. How about Risotto for a side dish?
Using ITALIAN Rice (nothing else will do):
-Saute a small diced onion in 2 tbsps of butter
-Add 1/4 cup white wine, allow to simmer for a few minutes
-Add 4 cups chicken stock (I use Knorr)
-Add two cups ITALIAN rice
-When the mixture boils, stir well, put on lid and reduce heat to minimum
-Stir occasionally
-After 20 minutes. add 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan (Reggiano, hopefully), stir well until cheese melts and serve
You might want to double this recipe - everyone who ever tries this loves it. I could serve nothing else for supper and still have a happy family!
and you can stir fry them .
a fave is partially cook alot of yellow beans than with alot of butter and garlic , stir fry on hig heat , omg , everyone in the family loves this . i think maybe i will make tomorrow as i just reminded myself of everyone eating it .
cous cous is great with pork. you can even get it all ready to go in a box. i think the ones with nuts and currents go nicely with pork.
also, someone here posted an awesome recipe for carrots with garlic, salt and pepper that would go nicely as your veggie dish. i tried this recipe out and it is a definite keeper.
in general, i think you should work with sides that have a sweet undertone to bring out the flavour of pork.
is a nice fragrant white rice and goes great with pork tenderloin. Are you dressing up the pork? We marinate in hoisin sauce which is yummy, and DH does one with Kobe/ranch dressing from the PC Cookbook which is ok too...
