What kinds of flowers for a balcony would depend on what conditions are -- what direction does your balcony face? Does it get a lot of sun or lots of shade? Does it get lots of wind or is it sheltered? More information is needed before any helpful suggestions can be offered.

You didn't mention the location of the balcony. North, south, east or west. Is the balcony up high as in an apt. setting? All of this will help you to decide what you will plant. Impatiens and begonias prefer shade. Petunias and geraniums prefer full sun. All those flowers are very common and easy to take care of. Most plants will do best if not exposed to too much wind. Hope some of this helps. Good Luck
