We just celebrated the two year anniversary of moving to our current home. We have a five year plan and the first floor is almost done. Just a kitchen to do. The bathroom was the first room to be completely done. Everything was original. When we removed baseboards, there wasn't even a second coat of paint. Wild. There was carpet everywhere, including the bathroom. It was stylish for that decade, but this house was showing it's age and it was time for a complete make-over. Just a couple of reno pictures. I took them all the way through, but the only people who are really interested in those are close friends and ourselves. My husband built the floating cabinet and put a high gloss paint finish on it. I had to have double sinks, just for sanity sake. Lots of lighting makes for easy make-up application (especially at my age). I love the Ikea Godmorgon medicine cabinet. The mirrored inside allows a girl to have perfect hair every time. Yes, the maintenance is a lot more, but it's worth it. The porcelain tile is white with pale grey striations and then a soft grey grout. The marble and stone backsplash clinched the colour scheme of white and grey with accents of blue/grey, creating a very calming atmosphere. It's not the biggest bathroom in the world, but it works.Stay tuned for more............Well, I've made a few changes since this was posted - towels, shower curtain and the door colour. I've also added a few more images. That's the one thing about design - you can always change, add, edit to your heart's content - depending on how your taste's change or are influenced or inspired to try something new and different. Sorry about the picture quality on the middle photo. Weird that the flash went off, as I had a lot of lighting on! and it cast a funny colour.
