After I spoke with you last night in chat I checked my book and remebered the name of the plant. Big-Leafed Ligularia.
Hers goes burgandy on the underside of the leaves but the book says choc. brown. It is great to fill a large space as leaves are like dinner plates, The yellow flowers are on tall spikes. She planted them in sun in the morning & shade rest of the day and they are lovely.
