Black Marker on walls

How do I remove black marker from walls, have tried TSP, doesn't work.  Goo Off is OK but I can still see the marker.  Should I go and get some Kilz paint and see if that works?  Seems like I am rubbing and scrubbing and will soon have to redrywall the whole room.  Help, any suggestions ?

Hey thanks to both dustbunnydiva and Dawn, your were both right, seems like I'll have to do the whole room again.  I'm not displeased about that.  One wall is actually wood panelling (dark rich colour) so think I might do the trim same colour as the panelling and the rest of the room a very blue colour.  Blinds and window trim will remain white though and so will the ceiling.

Thanks guys

Emilia

You have nothing to lose so try what works on white boards. When someone uses a permanent marker if you trace over it with a dry erase marker it will wipe right off. Otherwise, yes you are going to have to use a primer with a sealer in it because it will just bleed though paint.

I was able to remove black permanent marker from an old metal toolbox I bought at a thrift store.  I used a Mr. Clean Magic Sponge.  I'm not sure if that would leave a 'rubbed' spot on your walls, but if you are gonig to paint again anyway it may be worth a try.

Another thing that may work is Soft Scrub, since it is a mild abrasive.  Again, it may alter the sheen of your paint.

Good luck with that.
