Fendi
Good thinking!!! :)
Save me some food ok? :D
Have left the invite for 11am as these particular gusts are always one hour late anyhow!!!!
Fendi
you're welcome! :)
I think 11 am is a little too early. All the brunches that I've been to have usually started at around 1pm. Then again most of those brunches featured a lot of lunch food so it made sense to have it later. I guess it depends on what dishes you are serving...if you have more breakfast foods then maybe do 12 o'clock.
Good luck and have fun!!
Glad you are enjoying the Alfredo recipe-we like it too!
Fendi
thanks so much for the great menu plan-I will use lots of the ideas there-shall my guests be invited for 11am?
Fendi
hi..i think at the brunch you should serve scrambled eggs, bacon, sunny sied up eggs, patatoes, and I think its ok to serve dessert at a brunch . .
i think it would be o.k if u serve desert...y not????
I would have stayed on for lunch and dinner! Sounds amazing to me! :)
Fendi, I was at a big brunch at someone's house recently and some of the dishes that I can remember them serving, and me wolfing down, were:
-mushroom, onion, green pepper and cheese frittata
-regular bacon and turkey bacon
-sausages
-spinach and ricotta canneloni
-french toast
-roasted potatoes
-green bean salad
-mesclum salad
-roast ham
-pancakes and waffles
for dessert there was:
-apple pie
-cake
-fruit plate
-homemade cookies
-chocolates
drinks:
-orange juice (with the option of a splash of prosseco)
-bottles of sparkling mineral water
-regular coffee and expresso
I once made something called "Christmas Morning Wife Saver" It is like a quiche but made in a 9x13 baking dish (the night before) It was really wonderful. Coffee cake is nice to have in addition to lots of fresh fruit served with a yogurt dip. I make cinnamon buns which look nice when baked together in a nice low serving dish drizzled with the white frosting. If you are interested in any recipe, I will gladly provide it...Thanks again for the Alfredo recipe...it is our favourite, now! :)
Drinks.... How about "sparkling" wine (or champagne) and orange juice as a starter.
Yes you should have something in the way for dessert but make it light and individual ( Creme caramel or creme brule). In the resturant we always have a friut tray, muffins, an egg dish "benes" being the most popular.Poach your eggs and put into ice bath to stop the cooking thendrop into rolling water to reheat for just a minute make your sauce ahead and toast eng. muffins and you are ready to go. Meat dishes bacon ham or sausage and then a lunch dish. I would probably go for lasagna as you can make it ahead. Always a salad. Drinks N/A cranberry and 7up or soda witha little lime juice freeze some whole cranberries and float them in the punch bowl help cool the punch without watering it down. Champagne and oj or if you want Martini's. Most everything can be made ahead reheated and served brunches can be so much fun and not a lot of work at serving time Have fun.
