Yes, keep it inside when it starts to get cold in the late fall. Don't let it stay outside when it's below 5 degrees. I kept one in the garage a few years back and it didn't survive because the garage got too cold.
so should i bring it into the house for the winter?
It goes through a dormant period where it doesn't require any watering and from my experience it's about November up to March/April. It will not survive under 5 degrees celcius, I do not water it during this time and keep it in the dark, it pretty much looks dead but in the spring it comes back to life. I have kept mine in a pot the whole time, but I have seen people on my street plant it into their front gardens in the spring and then dig it up to put into a pot for the winter.

oh my thank you so much alana i am doing research on it now but i cant find out what to do with it in the winter?Its in a pot too not planted in the ground.
It looks like a Brugmansia plant to me, another name being Angel Trumpet.
