We are hosting a massive cocktail party this holiday season. My one concern is our very small front entry. Does anyone have any great ideas about what to do with the many many pairs (possibly 100) of shoes and boots? Given that it is only October and we already have more than a foot of snow on the ground, I don't think our front porch will be a storage option come December. My only other thought is our attached garage, but I really don't want our guest to enter through our disaster zone.

Empty your front closet, coats on a bed and your family's shoes in the garage. Use the front closet to hang any hanging shoe racks or shoe bags. I have a few of these "hanging" around, found them for less than $10 and they hold 10 pairs of shoes. It might help you make floor space. They come in handy, especially in a teenage daughters closet! :) She even stuffs purses in there too!
....come barefoot!!! Seriously, how about using a spare bedroom as a temporary solution. Maybe spread a plastic sheet on the floor, and after they take their shoes off in the foyer, you or they can take them in there.
