Hi all

This is my first post here, so bear with me... :o

Can you recommend a good one-day class/cooking school in the GTA. My wife is very interested in going and I would like to do this together with her.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will definitely check them all out. The Calphalon Institute is closest to what my wife was looking for, so I might sign us both up for the 4 intro courses and then a couples course.

thanks again.

the lcbo holds cooking lessons i believe...or is it tastings now...hmm can't remember now as i am typing this reply. anyway, it's free and it's just a one night commitment unlike an actual course. you can look into it if interested :)
good luck and have fun!

Well we weren't beginners but we met a few couples there that were and they managed fine. Personally I found the classes easy to follow...I don't think you'll have a problem. You can always pop in if you're in the neighbourhood and take a peek at a class in progress so that you get an idea of what to expect. That's what we did.

Happy Cooking!

Thank you very much for that info. Are the classes okay for beginners or would you recommend having some experience before undertaking one of these ?

Thanks

if you live in the city, pick up a NOW magazine (this week's) and you'll see a whole section that lists places to learn cooking skills...have fun!

My DH and I have taken classes several times at the Calphalon Culinary Center in downtown Toronto and we keep going back because it's great fun! Check out the site and look at class calendar.
