I also like the look and feel of Corian. It can scratch, but if it does it is an easy fix, either by using a mild abrasive liquid cleanser or fine grit sandpaper. A great place to buy full or partial sheets is www.solidsurface.com They have amazing prices and an incredible selection, too!
Hi, walshmo: I understand your concern. Why don't you check out the Corian care website here? It offers some tips on removing fine scratches and a bit more detail about general maintenance:

Yes you need to be careful with them. They will buff out however over time in one area you might end up with an indent, Odds are - not likely going to happen and many people seem to ignore any scratches. It is great looking and easy to care for other than the danger of leaving marks and scratches.
