one of the benefits of the crock pot is that it makes cheaper cuts taste great. Maybe try sitting the meat on something so it isn't sitting in the fat?

Thanks for the great ideas. I tried a roast this weekend....... It tasted delicious but it was a cheaper cut of beef and so it was greasy......What cuts of beef roast should I but for crockpot cooking??

Ribs are great in a crock pot. When you get home from work the smell is overwhelming............

make it in your crockpot. Prepare everything the night before and then put it on low early in the morning. By dinner time the flavours are perfect. You can't beat a crock pot in the winter. Stroganoff is a good choice too.

Also good for your hot apple cider, or any hot drink, for a party.

Dianne, I am so in love with my crock pot lately. There's nothing better than coming home to a cooked meal.

I've been trying all my recipes from this link http://crockpot.allrecipes.com/.

I actually just made a roast tonight and it was excellent. I browned the roast in oil, then mixed in my crock pot 1.5 cups beef broth, 1.5 cup of water, an envelop of onion soup mix, 5 whole cloves of garlic. Cook on low for 3-4 hours, add any vegetables you'd like, cook for another 1-2 on low.

Enjoy your crockpot!!!
