Hello allI`m a newbie to this forum and to Emerald cedars.Planted 10 cedars on the May 24 weekend. I did all my research from plantingdepth to spacing, and hole size, to watering etc...They were amazing. Key word here is were, just last weekend I noticed thatthe inside of all 10 cedars are turing brown and dropping the needles (leafs)to the point where they are very sparce. What is happening to them, and is there any thing that I can do to save themor is this just the nautral process of the cedars preparing for winter.Any advise would certainly be appreciated. Thanks

Hi taylorzambri,We had the same problem.  Spring is here now...and I am noticing that they are starting to turn green...hopefully, they will all follow suit (I am keeping my fingers crossed).  I think they go brown because they in shock...anyway, good luck....

Hello taylorzambri,I did some quick research and it seems that what you are describing is pretty common for newly planted cedars during their first fall and winter. However, to be safe, consult your local nursery or gardening centre and they'll be able to tell you for sure.Don't forget to let us know what it was!JenniferWeb promotions editor
