trynto..........home is not about the decor or how perfect it is.....it is the character, the warmth and what your family is bringing into it.......just think, the floors have stood up to 150 years of wear, you dont even have to worry about them taking abuse.........now that is home!

you guys are the best at making a girl feel great....i was really starting to doubt why I bought this creaky old house that needs so much work .......but then you guys have reminded me that my home is different and unique but more importantly has history........I was saying to my hubby the other day when looking in the parlour ( now dining room)...I wonder how many vistors walked on that floor and visited the house....in the old days...the parlour was the public area for quests to enter in the home..and the host or hostess would show off all of their valuables in that room as well as their books and bible.....in fact I still have the prayer ledge where the bible was kept.........so that is why I bought this place...it has good bones and good vibes......thank you again to everyone who has given me such wonderful compliments...............

It obvious why you love this house. Looking at the its condition and the yards it seems like all the owners have loved it. You're very lucky. Your very own family retreat every day.

Oh trynto, I'm sitting here drooling!!! What a fantastic home!!!! Who needs an H&H kitchen -- look at that yard!! And the pool!! And the lovely windows and wood.... and just think how much fun you're going to have (well, maybe a few headaches too!!) redesigning your kitchen. I bet it'll be loads better than any kitchen in a magazine :)

I so hope you're enjoying your new home. It's going to be a great place for your kids to grow up... just think of the great memories they'll have of living out in the country :)

Congratulations :confetti:

and all the rooms look so spacious. Great view and it looks so peaceful in your yard. Nice landscaping around the pool too! Did you buy new furniture when you moved? YOur couches look so comfy :) and you have a couple of cute kids peeking over the edge

This one is beautiful and has character. You do not need a H&H kitchen, look at the views and those windows. :)

thanks everyone.....i am quite excited about fixing this old house up.....but I tell ya...i had second thoughts the other day after visiting my girlfriends brand new 3000 sq ft home with the H&H magazine kitchen....gosh it was just so beautiful...and then I came home to my frumpy old farm kitchen....LOl...........but I must remember...this is a home...not a house...and my kids have 1 acre to run wild on.....so far they have been climbing the trees, making jumps to ride their bikes off..., chasing the chipmunks and my oldest has taken to riding the lawn mower all around the property....we are looking forward to building our hockey rink again this year too but now it will be bigger..just hope it is colder than last year....skating outdoors was the pits last year...too warm.............................take care and thanks for the compliments .....it keeps me going...............I will post more projects.........because there are so many........................... :D
