....you remind me of that comedian on T.V. who is tackling her house all on her own too. She is amazing!! It is always so inspiring to see the fortitude, talent, patience, creativity, ingenuity and humour that women like you tackle such monumental tasks. I'm so proud!!

Well...
I am 37 married with a baby (2 yrs old) boy.
Staying at home for about another year & working from home as a hairstylist...taking the sheffiled course & planning to start a small part time business in the new year...with hopes of it being full time by hte time the baby is in school. Dh is currently working full time & working on his MBA, so that leaves me lot's of time to play with my forum friends:)
Our home is presently for sale, we have a tentative offer on another one that I love, but need to sell this one first:( So in the meantime all decorating projects are on hold...that's it for me:D Nice to read about all of you! I have really come to enjoy all the posts & sharing we do. Thanks to all!!

Despite the way you keep sweetening your offer, I am sure I can't afford her...I am already feeding two dogs, two teenagers, one man and myself. I don't like to have to work this hard...

I didn't forget about that mutt...though I did forget to thank you for your gracious offer to mail her to me. So sorry, I must decline. I have one of my own AND she already has a pet of her own. I have attached a picture of the "counter-eater's" little friend.

so many willing to answer the call! I have learned something about the new members, just as I hoped, and was reminded of details I had forgotten about the old members. I have a vision in my head of a big map of the country, with little pins marking the spots where everyone lives.

One day we shall have to find the middle ground and arrange to meet - maybe at the local Benjamin Moor dealer, goodness knows, they ought to be thrilled to host THIS gathering! Elise, you and Artsy may wear dark glasses and trench coats to the affair.

Keep your stories coming, please!

...you sound like such a nice person, but for a teeny while longer I'd like to remain anonymous. One day though it would be a pleasure!!!
Not sure if you're ready for a licking.

....the religious artifacts my mother has would melt your butter. I have quite a few myself, since I've travelled to Greece with my mom on numerous occasions, and have visited more churches than the Patriarch himself. I've bought some beautiful ornate crosses at Michael's which made my mom almost pee herself with happiness. More protection from all things evil, she says.

I am married and have a 20 yr. old daughter in her second year University. She is the most wonderful person in the world, to me, and am very proud of the way she is maturing into a responsible and sensible adult!!
We have lived in our home since 1982, and love it very much. The most extensive renovation thus far is a family room addition we had built several years ago. Our next big project is replacing all of the windows. Very expensive but necessary.
My Dh is really a wonderful man but when it comes to "decor" he just doesn't get it. He is one of those types that thinks "if it's not broken, it's fine" I have been hammering for a new kitchen counter and backsplash to no avail. I think one of these days I'm going to cook a roast, use an axe to slice it, and "accidentally" miss!! The little bugger!!!!

I live outside of Vancouver in a townhouse with my husband. We purchased it after living in a one bedroom condo for the past 13 years (where we constantly tripped over each other!) We more than tripled the size of our home, but have certainly furnished it quickly!

Our next project is to tackle the fireplace wall in the family room. Not sure what the builder/architect was thinking when they did that wall, but the shape of it resembles a swastika - not really the look I'm after! Fortunately, DH is very handy and I've designed a rock or brick front surround with built in bookcases for either side that he is more than happy to put together. Yay!

I've recently quit my boring office job and am presently working at opening up my own design business.

I live in Edmonton, in a home I have owned for four years. It was originally built in the 50s, but was substantially renovated in the mid 70s and renovated again in the early 80s.

I live with my partner (my "DP", if you will) and my two teenage children. We have an old and beloved Lab/Malamute cross, who has a pet of her own - a young dog we bought to keep the old one company. I work full time in an office and daydream about being an interior decorator.

We have 2 major projects "on the go" at present. Our main bathroom has structural problems and must be renovated. We also have significant exterior damage from the hailstorm that hit Edmonton on July 11. We have had to be very patient, as the contractors in the city are overwhelmed by work since the date of the storm.
