I bought a cheap metal arch to put at the front entryway over the stone paver path last year. My husband and I like the idea of the thing but feel that it would have been much better to buy a better quality metal arch. We've since been looking around for such a thing to replace our cheapo (would prefer a hand crafted sort of look) and have only seen more cheap-looking ones. Anyone know where I could find such a thing maybe within 150 km. of Ottawa or so?

I got one last year from Varios Products (www.variosproducts.com) and I am VERY pleased with it. It is not exactly "rustic" but it is very very plain, black painted steel and very sturdy. It has legs that fold out (they are meant to hold pots) that I have used it to stabilize the arbour. Varios is in Beamsville, Ontario, and they make these things there. They shipped it (knocked down) to me here in Ottawa without any problems. Before I ordered it, I had a conversation back-and-forth with a very nice person on the other end of the line because I wanted to be clear about the measurements etc. It was $369.95 and worth every penny. It is very well made and will last a long time, I am sure. I have tried to attach a photo, we'll see if it works...
