And I'm totally stealing your idea! :biglol:
What a lovely little garden. Thanks for sharing. :)
Yes, DH and I spent a day last fall digging out the bed and putting in the bulbs, prior to that I just had the lanterns in the grass...not so attractive :D It's a mixture of different daffodils, muscari and crocus. I was trying to get some that the squirrels wouldn't totally destroy, along with planting them a little deeper than recommended and paprika under the soil and above the bulb.
We placed them in order of height and grouped them together. Last fall, we put allysum around the bases of the lamps and I put a couple mums in between, I'm excited to go shopping for annuals for when the bulbs die down totally :)
DBD, I saw pics of your weather...reminds me of the time I went out there to vacation the second week of May and we were bombarded with a huge snow storm, driving from Kananaskis to Medicine Hat in our little rental before getting snowed in at the hotel, lol...I feel for you and won't complain about our "break" in gorgeous weather :)
Oh I am so jealous. Please tell me those are plastic so I can be less envious. Calgary is back to an even white all over everything and it will be weeks before we see flowers around here.
Meanwhile, very pretty and you've done a nice job on that walk.
very nice picture!
