I posted in the general paint forum but my post disappeared.....

Anyway, take a look at the pic and throw some suggestions at me, please!!.
I have removed the wallpaper and I am in the process of repairing/preparing the walls for paint.
This is what I want to do for now(limited budget):

-get new countertops installed(what color??)
-paint the walls (Flourishing #CL 2923M from General Paint,???)
-get new flooring installed

I could paint the cabinets but as they are the same color as my appliances (and I don't want to buy new appliances yet) I am kinda stuck with the color they are for now.
When at least one appliance bites the big one I will replace all of them and then get new door and drawer fronts for the cabinets.

I am open to suggestions, including the color for the walls as I have no clue about colors and such.

Hi, I Just have gone through the picture and viewed your current kitchen design. I guess, you need some dark color countertops, and also wood flooring with light clolor tiles would be great. You can also view some kitchen remodeling examples on some reliable online sites such as Kitchen Remodeling in Cleveland. You will get a good idea what to do and how to remodel your kitchen professionally.

I agree, kitchen is the soul of you home. I have recently replaced my old cabinets with maple kitchen cabinets. I wanted a new look and replacing the cabinets added a new attraction to my kitchen.

The kitchen is said to be the heart of the home. The kitchen is one of the most intriguing parts of a house and thus decorating it nicely and exquisitely is utmost important. When decorating a kitchen the key is to keep it simple and to avoid clutter.

I agree with Chalmers...A new cabinet can transform the look and feel of the kitchen...The colors of the cabinet reminds me of an old movie setting..Just in case you are worried of storage space, you can create more storage. So if you can replace that cabinet.

I agree with shanmarsh999 I furnished an entire open concept kitchen on a lucrative full home renovation of a 3 story mansion. You can create a cadillac kitchen without the cadillac price. Check it out here: http://aryze.ca/the-uplands/. With the exception of the central Island all of the cabinets and drawers were Ikea.

I wouldn't say to replace the cabinet , you can paint the cabinet according to the your whole kitchen colour theme.

Ikea baby  our benches were custom made and cost more than the fit out- will look it up for you but the design software is handy to download and play with to get an idea of layout and price. They are just as good, if not better IMO than other flat pack companies.... I love soft close for free! One company charged something ridiculous per drawer. Also if you prefer a place to do it, Yarra valley kitchens on Canterbury rd Kilsyth are really wellPriced but we didn't want to wait 10 weeks!!!

Having your cabinets refaced would add more value to the kitchen.

Wow, hello 1980.  My suggestion would be to replace the cabinets if you can.  Painting them won't help that much, and you'll be much more happy with a newer design.  You could try Ikea cabinets if you're on a budget.  There are other solutions out there as well, like ReUSE.

Hi, did you ever paint those cabinets? I have the same ones and want to do 'something' with them. I'd love to get some ideas and pictures of what it looks like re-done! Thanks so much

Why not try painting your cabinet with dark green and your wall with yellow or you can do it vice versa? Since this two colors compliment each other. I read from an article that the best color for the kitchen and dining area are green and yellow, for it brings freshness in the eyes so it boost the appetite.
