I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for lemon pound cake. My sister-in-law makes a terrific moist one, and she won't give anyone the recipe

Excellent, thanks so much! I have some friends coming over tomorrow to work on plans for a fashion show. I'm going to make those!

I didn't taste mine until the next day, and I thought it was great. Good to know that it needs to mellow (for next time)...who'd a thunk it?

I made it too, last night. But am disappointed. It is way too lemony, and not what I had in mind. I have a fab. orange cake that I will make next time instead. :o

I made the cake from Best Of Bridge (excellent suggestion, thank you so much), and it was wonderful (better than my SIL's, in fact) :)

I have used main-course recipes from Epicurious and they were all excellent, but haven't tried their dessert recipes...good suggestion, thanks!!

yum, you've got me in the mood for some lemon cake too! To honour spring!

Have you tried epicurious.com for a recipe. I have tried a couple of other cake recipes (non-lemon) from that site and all turned out superb.

Did you try the recipe from BestofBridge? I am thinking of trying it tonight, and would like to know beforehand if it worked. thanks

DH says we have enough stuff in the freezer to live on for years :o Probably right. But it's so easy to pull something out when you need it. We would never get through a big cake...

I would love that recipe! Lemon is such a clean taste -- love it!

Thanks so much -- what a great website that is! I'm going to try the lemon loaf today. I like to make cakes in three little pans, so I can freeze the ones we don't immediately want (just two of us, and DH is not a sweet-eater), and also the small loaves make nice gifts. I will let you know how it turns out.

PS Love the bottom line on the website you suggested: What can you expect of a day that starts with getting up??
