Your photos are lovely, MamboGirl! Gets me thinking about spring! We would like to plant some lilac bushes along the fence between us and the neighbour and would like something that will get tall. Any suggestions on a particular type of lilac? Also, how many bushes should we plant and, how close together? Should we plant all the same kind? I was thinking of planting 3 trees.
Yes it was at the RBG. My boyfriend and I were so impressed we decided to get season passes to the gardens, but sadly haven't used them since. The summer was just so busy.. We will for sure be returning this year to see the lilac display.. it's breathtaking!
Nice pic's
Noticed you were from Hamilton. Did you take those pic's at the best kept secret the R.B.G? They have a great lilac garden, I was most impressed a few years back when I was in the hedge garden. They had a beautiful lilac hedge.Think I may give it a try this year.
Hamilton has one of the best gardens in Canada and seldom is it promoted. What a shame!
From the area
I took the pics myself. I got a digital camera for christmas, and I've been going crazy taking pictures of everything. I'm very pleased with the way those pictures turned out :) I have many more from that day, those are the nicest closeups though.
i'm a new memeber...happened to see ur lilac photos...have u taken them onur own? if so they r fantastic...u captured them so nicely...i felt like saving them on my hard drive...good luck with ur photography
I totally agree with you! The deep purple Lilacs are so beautiful and smell heavenly.
My neighbour has a dark purple double lilac tree, they gave me permission to proprogate some, as I've always wanted one of my own.
Thankyou for sharing the pictures, they were worth looking at!
Thank you.. I'm glad someone enjoyed them. I couldn't believe it when I saw the ones in pic 1. They are gorgeous!
Wow! Fabulous pics. I've never seen lilacs like picture no.1; almost doesn't look real.
Wish I had somewhere to plant a lilac bush; maybe someday :)
Last one I promise! I don't know if anyone is interested in this.. but I so enjoyed them yesterday that I must share these pics with someone!
Another pic..
Here is the "sensation" lilac. Look at the two colours!
