The house...
So FH and I didn't end up buying the house for a couple of reasons, so we have decided to rent a house (we move in next Sunday) in Ajax for a year and then start looking again to buy sometime after the wedding.
The new landlord is great and he is going to pay for all the paint for the house I get to pick everything and he will also pay for any new lighting etc that I want to put in. He is also giving us the option of buying it when our lease is up. I will post pics next week.
Other news..
We have set a wedding date of Aug 11th, so far we have a church booked, but no hall for the reception, but my mom has offered to let us use her backyard if we can't find anywhere we like.
I can't find a dress I like no one has anything that is right, so I think i am going to have one made from my own design.
OK that's it for now...

the dark teal on your mom and silver/grey on your bridesmaids will be stunning!! it's nice that you are thinking about the girls ability to wear the dresses later. i've had a few too many dresses from weddings that i'd never wear again....in some pretty eeeccckkky colours....like fusiha ...and peach  i hung onto them for years....why, i'm not sure...they eventually made it to the donation bag in hopes someone somewhere would find a use for them.
I am going to do the bridesmaid dresses in the length of the dress I posted, I like that they will be able to wear them again. My mom is walking me down the isle and will also be in a tea length dress, that will be done in a dark teal.
i really like the concept of your dress...very pretty....are your bridesmaids dresses going to be the length as posted or full length???
Well I can't find a dress I love, so I have designed one my self and am going to have it made. It has a sweetheart neckline, with all the fabric on the bodice cut on the bias in strips so it call comes across my abdomen with a bit of twist, then its a full skirt with box pleats at the top, the skirt is also a balloon style at the bottom with a pleated ruffle at the bottom. I will add a little bit of beading around the waist. I have attached a pic so you can see what the top and the pleating will look like but I am completely changing the skirt. I really do like the dress I posted but apparently it takes a year to make and my wedding is in 7 months .... OH and the dress cost $8100 LOL I am so not willing to spend that kinda money on a dress. The first dress is the idea for the skirt the second dress is the idea for the top and the ruffle at the bottom.
The red dress is for the bridesmaids, but it will be in grey/silver taffeta.
yes, what style of dress do u have in mind?
Do you mean for a dress?
you've a wedding to plan girl....last thing you want is the distraction of house hunting.
r u thinking of designing something like the pic u posted before??
That seems like a reasonable decision considering all the excitement of your wedding, new job, etc. Will your new place be near work for both of you? BTW, can you do a Right to Purchase contract in Ontario. Simple explanation - you set a price that you would buy for in a year and pay rent as you go. You can then buy or keep on renting. Frankly as an owner I wouldn't be doing that in today's markets but it used to be a way for young owners to get into a place before they had their downpayment saved. I also think you're wise to live in the area prior to buying. I used to say I wanted to rent in a community before buying so I learned the little secrets.
i must agree, baby steps is likely going to be the way to go..........too much to soon can be very overwhelming......just enjoy one step at a time. We look forward to seeing pics of your new place and sounds like you have a wonderful landlord.

I agree......it will happen when you are ready.
baby steps.....one day at a time.........good decision..............
That is probably a smart decision as buying a house is one you don't want to rush into. You have so much going on take your time a the perfect one will come along. My FDIL is having the same issue with finding a dress she is going to Vanc. for a week this month to look as she can't find what she wants either and may have it made for her.
