I just got the lastest issue of Canadian House and Home, and love all the bold, vivid colours! I might go ahead and paint our spare room, but could use some input in terms of picking a colour. The room is a bedroom, but currently used as a den. The furniture includes a black futon, black shelving unit, and teak credenza and hutch. The artwork is all black and white, both photographs and original prints. The only colour is a small chair, upholstered in a green/grey/white print (and the current wall colour, which is a pale green). I'm not sure of what direction to go. Any ideas? Thanks for your suggestions.

For the low light living rooms, white and other bright colors are the perfect idea. From an optical point of view, the room becomes larger, more capacious and also more cheerful.
Hi DeborahEllen, Could get a better idea on how to advise if you could post a picture of the room. (windows?, flooring?)
I love going to places like Home Depot, Lowes and Rona just to go to the paint section and pick up some of their brochures. We did our living room based on colours we found in one of the Behr brochures Home Depot had.
They feature rooms and have the colours matching. I loved it.
Maybe you will get some ideas there too.
