Ahhhh,I am a beginner gardner, and the front of my home has been left empty for 4 years. We get full sun in the front in the morning and shade in the late afternoon. Now, we dug the area where we are going to plant. But the problem is I dont know what to plant. I am looking for perennials, and am trying to accomplish a white garden with possibly some pops of purple.Since the house is so tall I dont want to dwarf the front with plants that are too small. At the same time I dont want plants that will block the light from the windows or grow into massive hard to maintain bushes. Please help, any mock ups and I would love, love, love you for it =)curvy bedcurvy bedImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

I would start with a row of lambs ear all around the outer edge of the garden..They are a grey fuzzy plant and would look beautiful with the stone on your house. You could add a row of taller plants close to your house.. Deep purples or dark fushias look great with the grey as do deep reds....If you have a garden centre close, ask for their advice. They will know your area and the sort of plant that will be suitable for you.I  jsut looked at the date of your letter and I am sure you already have your garden in  I would be interested in seeing what you planted...

You can try planting some shrubs.
