OK, gals, I got the cast off - YAY :bliss: ! - and have been scrubbing and moisturizing 7 weeks of dead skin off . It's working, though.
I got the Nutra-nail (with green tea, no less, fancy-schancy stuff for me, no expense spared). Now, my questions are :
do I need to remove it with nail polish before re-applying it?
what do you do with a nail file? and those wee bits of wooden sticks??
anything else I should be doing?

I meant to say Hi Reno-vator...Hi to you too Arizona:)
Hi Arizona...I always apply 2 coats and find it lasts a week to 10 days....I remove the old before applying a new coat.Sometimes I will use a coloured polish and use the NutraNail as an undercoat and top coat.
Those wooden sticks are to push your cuticles back, you do that when your get out of the shower because it's easier to push them back then. Mine aren't too bad but I remember a manicurist once told me that some people have their cuticles almost halfway up their nails. I think if they are pushed back it's better for the nail growth but that could be a myth.
Apparently you aren't supposed to cut your cuticles but I do.
When I do my nails I usually square them off at the top, then when they grow a bit and get a snag on one side, I file the snag out so they are more pointy. If you keep the nails pointy from the start when you get a snag in them you have to start over I guess or glue them, some people use Crazy Glue to keep their nail tears in check.
