Hi,
Our neighbours passed on their weathered rattan settee to us and I have decided to prime and paint it. I am hoping for some primer suggestions. It will sit outside all summer and I hope to buy a primer and paint that will be durable. If possible, I'd like to go a year or two without priming and painting again.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

You can buy Zinsser BIN primer in spray tins that would work perfectly. It's good indoors and outdoors, sticks to anything so you don't have to worry about what is on it now (other than making sure it's clean). Then you can paint with whatever you like.
I think if I were you, I'd ask if there is any special paints for rattan because just the nature of the beast would suggest you need a paint that stays flexible (at least with my logic it does).
