We had our new front door installed last week and I love..It seems after 20+ yrs. everything needs a facelift:eek:.It is fiberglass that was stained to go with the house...the blind is between the window panes and can be adjusted like any blind..I chose a bronze frame because they didn't have the same brown as the window frame so I thought it better to have a contrast than try to match. I have posted the before & after.

Black would have been a good choice Lascelle but I have already chosen a brown shade....It will be installed Tuesday(weather permitting).I will post a picture.
Love your new front door but I like the idea of the canopy for the same reasons you mentioned. How about doing the canopy in the black but have the trim in a contrast colour brown or bronze for interest, just an idea.
OH!Smoodgie I dont hate you ...this is what I like about this forum...to hear everyone's opinion what makes it fun.....The canopy is nice when it is raining(and we have had alot of that) as it does give some protection when getting the mail or someone is at the door.

Don't hate me, but,,,, I prefer your front porch without the canopy. But it's what you like best that matters :)
Thank-you for the nice compliments....We are also having the canopy recovered because it is 21 yrs. old and had moss growing on it..the new fabric is a heavy vinyl ...I will post a picture when it is done..hopefully it will be installed soon as it has been down for 3 weeks now...I guess I'll be working for awhile yet because I am always finding something that needs to be done...I love doing things around the house but everything costs $$$$$$.
I have posted a picture of the entrance without the canopy...doesn't it look so much better with the canopy?.
