Ok everyone, we are on to the 4th attempt for a house. Inspection will likely happen Wednesday or Thursday - so far this is where every house deal has fallen apart.
We have checked for asebestos, rodent traces, rotten windows, shingles, roof flashing, mold, yard sloping and it all seems to check out to our eyes anyways.
We almost didn't look at it because the pictures did not do it justice. It is light filled and has one of the best backyards we have seen on our house searches. It is less than a block away from a park, the school and most importantly:rolleyes:the outdoor rink.
My DH has told me I should not tell anyone because we don't need another house to be jinked so everyone could send some positive energy.
(I also have another post about built in cooktops and it is in this house that I am investigating the options...)

The home inspection went well. Few minor problems which we noticed but no surprises! So we GOT THE HOUSE!!!(insert clapping emicon here!)
Now I can start loading the forum with a ton of questions!
thanks to all those who crossed their fingers and toes for us.
The attached picture of the sunroom, although needing updates, is what really sold me on the house. The backyard is what sold my husband!
now how did my post get above yours Reno? I just read yours and it posted above it?
it did it again!
fingers and toes are crossed for you.....and you too Reno
Nancy, I hope this is the one for you - just remember, no house is PERFECT, just evaluate the deficiencies and if they can be fixed easily or not - I have a horror story to tell you about the house I bought last Friday, but will wait until we hear about yours so as not to scare you off . . .
good luck and toes and fingers are crossed, keep us posted
