I took the toilet tank off so I could paint behind the toilet as I couldn't even get the flat paint sponge behind it. Was a bit extra work, but if I hadn't done it, I would never have been happy with the job. DH runs when I start painting as I had painting around anything!
I have painted every room myself in my home and found the bathrooms the hardest. So many corners and nooks and cranies to get into. The night before I taped which made the job easier. Go to Home Depot and get a small sponge roller and it rolls perfectly behind the toilet. Good luck!
