I just saw a preview for a show that Peter is doing - new this fall... he's doing his version of a "Sarah's House"!! His show is called "Home to Flip".

Personally I don't mind if he's doing a bit of a copy-cat because I LOVE this type of program... remodeling is definitely my thing!

Anybody else see the comercials? Thoughts?
Looks like it previews on Thursday evening.
I'll be watching!!

I like Peter's "HOME-TO" series, so I don't mind him doing similar things as other shows.

I just came across this old thread in doing a google search for Peter Fallico. I have to admit, Sarah kinda gets on my nerves. I like MOST of her work, but not all. However, I LOVE EVERYTHING I have seen by Peter Fallico. Right now I worship him. LOL

I still love Sarah's style...one designer I've consistently liked!
On her hair...I liked long better too, but short...well... she does have 2 little one's at home and a very busy life. Short likely easier :)

I also like Peter Fallico...look forward to his new show. PVR's Pure Design & haven't had a chance to watch yet...this weekend will do so.

I really enjoy Peter Fallico and will be watching Home To Flip this thursday night. I like the way he designs and he has great vision. The places are small and he has a way of making every space count. Looking forward to watch.

I hadn't heard about PF's new show, but I'll try to watch. I think he has some really great ideas. I tend to view his style as a little more budget conscious than SR's, but I enjoy the work of both.

I too liked Pure Design - although I do find the way that Sam looks at the camera is very flirty at times (maybe the camera guy is cute???), so I can do without that and the sing-songy voice. I do like the premise of the show because it is a copy of the Room Service format. Even her style is a bit on the SR style...

I watched too and liked what I saw (missed some bits). Reminds me of what Sarah R. used to do. Some nice ideas that most people can incorporate with a little DIY and some creativity.

I either read or heard that PF did his Home to Flip and stayed within $1800 of his budget. Now it didn't say what the budget was but to be able to stay that close is pretty good.

Thanks for the input. I think I probably saw some various episodes but did not follow/watch the entire season.

Well here's my take which may not be shared by others.

Sarah bought a fixer upper (right beside the train track.... which right away was a questionable idea for an investment property even in Toronto) with the theory she could buy it, fix it up with a budget of 50% of what she paid, and sell it for much more thus showing people the possibilities and making some money. Good in theory, but she went so far over budget that even if she sold it at what it was listed for (double what she paid), she didn't make any money. It wasn't a very good example (IMO) of how to stay even close to budget because if she couldn't do what she wanted, she just raised the budget again.

I also thought she was a little arrogant with the nieghbours as she didn't seem to think it was a big deal to chop down the trees between the houses for example and more or less giggled when mentioning they were not happy to come home and find the things gone.

For me, just not what I am interested in seeing. I want to see how someone (particularly a professional) sets a budget and sticks to it since that is what most of us have to do. As far as seeing that house as a good flip for profit, it was a flop to me and she wasted a lot of time and effort for no profit. Doesn't seem too sensible to me.

What happened with the 'last house' & Sarah. I am out of the loop.

Can anyone expand/inform. Thanks.
