pic: clay pots painted for next year

Inspired by a photo I'd seen online where clay pots had a swirly black and white pattern, I decided to paint some like that for the garden. I got pots ages ago, and by the time I got around to it I had a few extras, so I did a grouping of them. I used Deco Art Patio Paint, which is available at Michaels and other craft stores, and a sealer that is compatible with it. (it's all waterbased)

I'm not sure where they will go, but I'll figure that out next year. I have a wooden plant stand that was once my mothers, which I may paint In an outdoor paint so I can use it outside in a protected area..

I made a pattern for the 2 that have swirls and the one that has the harlequin diamond shapes. I held a piece of paper to the area to be painted, to make a pattern. Then I drew the design I wanted on the pattern paper. To transfer the design I shaded the wrong side of the paper in pencil fairly heavily, then placed the pattern right-side-up on the pot and went over the lines with a pen to transfer the design. The pencil shading kind of acts like good, old-fashioned carbon paper..

This is the inspiration picture that got me going-not my work:
