and depending on where you live, I've heard it can range from about 80$ to 200$ per square foot - so if you added on a family room that was 15 x 15, that is 225 sq. ft. then budget between $18,000 - 45,000 depending on what finishes you choose, etc.

What exactly are you shopping around for?
To the PP, painting costs depend if it's regular paint (start at $350 per avg size room plus materials) or faux finish - could go up to $1200 PER WALL depending on technique.
I got some quotes from few general contractors. The cost of 3/4" hardwood foor is $10-11 sf.
Does any one know about the cost of interior painting?
