I'm looking for a good recipe for Sangria, the one I have is too heavy and tart tasting.

1 26oz bottle of triplesec
1 10oz bottle of brandy
2 1.5l dry red wine (gato negro)
4 lemons
4 limes
4 oranges
2 quarts strawberrries
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon active brewers yeast (optional)
1/2 can (500ml/) of pinapple juice
1 can concentrate orange juice.
2 bottles of club soda or ginger ale.

mix together everything except for half the strawberries, the red wine and club soda, stir well.
let rest for at least 24hours (3 days is best), do not refrigerate unless you are letting it rest for more than 3 days.

8 hours before serving, combine red wine with mixture and place in freezer to chill.
serve in large pitchers with ice and 1/3 club soda or ginger ale to give it bubbles.

serves 8-12 people.

Loblaws had some very expensive mixed fruit in a jar - it was in its own juice, and I often used that for sangria (both the fruit and the juice). I also put a shot of brandy in it. This weekend, I will probably be making sangria, and I will try putting in frozen fruit instead. The mix has a lot of peaches and melons, so might be nice.

I also put club soda in it, instead of anything sweetened.

2 bottles dry white wine
1 bottle dry red wine
1/2 bottle 7-up
1/2 box clean, sliced strawberries
1 lime
2 lemons
2 large oranges
2 sliced peaches

Mix wines together and add 7-up. Let sit. Cut up citrus fruit into wedges and squeeze into wine mixture. Drop fruit slices into wines. Add ice and chill
