Does anyone have a meat spag. sauce they can share. I would like to do large one in the slow cooker. Or a sauce with meat balls. Thanks. It does not have to be quick & easy.

i'm Portuguesse but my DH is Italian/Maltese and his mother taught me how to make spag sauce this way...

1 tbsp oil in a pot and add 1 clove of garlic, when the garlic starts to brown remove the pot from the burner and add 1 can of Primo or Unico crushed tomatoes (removing it from the burner helps it from splattering all over the place)...then put it back on the burner, then add some dried parsley and rub some dried oregano between the palms of your hands (brings out flavour) and add to the sauce....let it cook for about 2 to 3 hours on the lowest setting on the stove...and for a change instead of frying ground beef and adding it to the sauce...make small (about the size of a quarter) meatballs and cook them in the microwave or boil them and then once cooked add them to the sauce, and let it cook with the meatballs for the 2 to 3 hours

even when i make lasagna i don't add fried ground beef...i make smaller meatballs (about the size of a penny) and add them to the sauce and make the lasagna with them...let me know if you have any more questions

I've never made my meat sauce in a slow cooker, but here's what I do:

In a big pot, saute the meat, onions and garlic in some olive oil until browned. I like to use alot of onion
(about 3 large ones or 5 small).
Then add 1 can of diced tomatoes to the meat and saute for a few minutes. Add 1 can of crushed tomatoes, 1 can of hunts tomatoe sauce and some water. I can't tell you exactly how much water to add, you'll see when it's enough.
then add salt and pepper to taste. Add about 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
and 5 whole cloves. Let it cook on medium low heat for about 2 hours.
I usually make alot and freeze the rest. The kids love it and it tastes great. If you like you can also saute some veggies, but I prefer it without.
