Stood up

Well we have just been stood up for the fourth time by a retail company since February.  First at the home show in Toronto, three companies we were interested in for various home renovations took down our name and phone number and they ended the conversation with  "As soon as we get back to the office we will be in touch." We are still waiting.   And most recently a tv company told us he would come over last night to change our television services.  We haven't heard from him.  In January someone came from a window company, took detailed measurements of all our windows.  We are still waiting for a quote, despite my husband phoning to remind him.  Do these people want business or not?

You're not the only one. I requested quotes on granite, glass countertops, and kitchen cabinets -- actually drove half an hour to go to the kitchen place and an hour to go to the granite place -- and never got the quotes I requested. Not only that, but I got to the kitchen place at noon, and everybody at the place walked right by me on their way out for lunch without a single offer to help me.

A friend who recently renovated her bathroom had similar experiences looking for quotes. Only one place got back to her, and the quote was outrageously high.

Maybe business has been good lately and these places don't give a crap about potential customers. But down the road then things aren't going so well, I certainly won't be shopping at any of these places.
