this early in the year. Poor Western friends! :( The rain and wind have started here. What a day to take off! I will be soaked running my errands!

I am having my yard landscaped and you would not believe the amount of water that has accumulated. The planting beds around the unistone haven't been filled with dirt yet and with all of the compacted gravel at the bottom it looks like my patio is surrounded by a moat.

We're expecting 100mms of rain here. I can believe it -- our wheelbarrow is about to overflow, and it was empty yesterday.

Unlike Foxxy's dog, my stupid Lab refused to come in when I let her out for a pee at lunch!!

in newfoundland we always think & are thought to have, the coldest, most wet, most changing climate. Have talked to visitors here the summer who brought woolen hats & mitts with in july becasue they heard it was so cold here (28 the day they arrived). But snow - I think I would cry! But we are expected to get up to 55cm of rain tom. We shall see.

I think we need to build an ark here.
The whole yard is under water and the dog refuses to go,out to pee. Can you potty train a dog?

Easterners, I just looked at the Environment Canada satellite pictures - I did not realize Francis was taking out the last of his wrath on my fellow Canadians! Batten down the hatches, indeed. It is a good day to stay indoors on the forum and chat!

Oh yeah!!! My mom says that God is going to punish us because everyone has just turned into a bunch of crazy cannibals!! Hehehe, at least we'll die with full stomachs.

I was just watching a channel from Ontario (I think-satellite) and you're getting what's left of Francis. Yikes! Batten down the hatches, Take care!
I'm feeling quite guilty here, the weather gods are really showing their stuff for you guys!

here in Montreal. About 7 cm of rain expected today. My yard is flooded! I think the weather has just gone bonkers. Dreamer, if the snow melts quickly, I think your annuals will make it. Mums are really resilient so I am sure they will be fine.

You are too kind. The weather HAS not been good to my home - but, at least my sewer did not back up. Hundreds of Edmontonians are still cleaning up THAT sort of mess! My house is rather ugly now, which is disheartening for a shallow, house-proud person like me. My insurance claim is progressing at a snail's pace - as I said, other locals have worse problems than my "cosmetic" issues.

Jazzie - you are too kind too, even after having been teased by me about your lack of shopping opportunities, you still have a good thought for me!

Suzieg - it is indeed a small world! Get your niece to ask around Sherwood Park about Artsy - Artsy grew up there! Of course, if she does that, her new neighbours might think she is insane, but see if she will ask anyway!

...a ticket to Paradise after everything you've been through this year. Honestly Dreamer, I don't know how you manage to do it.

Sunny Saskatchewan isn't so sunny these days either - we haven't got the snow yet, but the rain never stops - the farmers around here are all at their wits ends!

just on the phone talking to my bestfriend in Sherwood Park. She sent me some pics of her backyard this morning. It looks worse at her house Dreamy, so at least you have that. She did say that it was supposed to be 18 on Saturday :)

Thank you for your kind consolation. I suppose that my potted annuals will not survive (though I am hopeful that the chrysanthemums in the pots on my front doorstep will last a little longer). I did want to do a little rearranging of my perennials beds, which is so much easier in fall than in spring!

They say in Alberta that "if you don't like the weather, wait a minute". Maybe it will be sunny and 20 by Saturday?

I can't believe it. I guess that you're not ready for that snow! Who is?? It's way too early! I hope you don't lose your plants.

The snow is melting slowly as I type, but my garage roof is completely shrouded in white and there is about an inch of snow on my outside furniture!

I am not ready for this - I still have perennials to move about!

I have ExpressVu so I saw a report that snow was coming to Northern Alberta - possibly as much as 20 cm. CRAZY!!! I was curious to hear how our forum friends fared. How much snow did you get Dreamer?
