Thanks Ladybug. I'm going into Vancouver on Monday so I'll check out Safeway there.
We have recently been given an ice cream maker and all of the interesting recipes need a vanilla bean.
I don't want to offend any lawyers out there! I don't "resue" vanilla beans but rather reuse them. Must be the eggnog interfering with my typing.

trwatson. I live in Calgary and regularly buy vanilla beans in Safeway in the spice section. They come 2 to a tube (as in test tube) and did you know that you can resue them if they are left to air dry and then kept in the tube? I got that tip from a cooking class I took.
