I have read that vinyl windows are best for any weather condition since they can stand up to the elements. Is it true? If anyone has done replacing old aluminum windows, I wouldbe grateful for knowing what brand of vinyl window is the best value in Ontario. What about http://www.clerawindows.com/windows? I heard about Home depot also. Any suggestions?

Schools compete for scarce resources, students and funding. Yet many schools seem to be populated by staff with long memories. Many teachers still think they onlinepapereditor only need to teach their subjects and students just need to learn. They think the responsibility for next year's enrollments lies with the Principal or the school board. It doesn't. It lies with everyone.

A vinyl window is inexpensive, durable and remarkably energy efficient, if it is properly designed to minimize thermal transfer.

As far as I know vinyl windows could easily withstand harsh weather conditions, keeping your home warm and comfortable for long years, so I don't see why you couldn't get them. If you want to really be sure of your choice though, you should ask Gilkey advice, they are the real windows professionals!

Vinyl framing materials prevent energy loss, don't require sealing or painting, and  much cheaper than wood. Metal windows  tend to be the worst for energy. It is work, but worthwhile. Your house looks better and feels better. Your next round of wintertime energy bills are 10% lower. Your house is quieter.

Vinyl windows are good and last long. To enhance the beauty of these windows you could use Shutters on them. Shutters are better than any other type of window covering, they are timeless as they never go out of fashion and they offer great lighting and visibility control. You can choose from options like Polyclad wood shutters, wood blinds and wood faux blinds.

While Vinyl windows perform great as insulator and it's true that vinyl windows don't require painting they are not as rigid as wood, thus they shrink in cold weather expanding in hot weather but because PVC is a sturdy plastic compound the frame will not crack, mold, split, or attract bugs.
