Need help with a major bathroom reno. Purchased this old home a month ago, and our first priority was upgrading the electrical from 60amp to 240, and removing all the old and hazardous wiring! Took awhile to find a good electrician and then for them to have the time, but that'll be finished this week. This bathroom now needs to go - desperately need a shower! We need to do as much of the reno ourselves as we can (the electrical upgrade was understandably expensive). To start, we'll tear out the tub and demo the 3/4 wall that sits between the bathroom and small room off the bathroom that didn't seem to serve a purpose. We wanted a double vanity but even a small-ish one will only fit on the same wall as the shower and I'm concerned that will look weird. We also want to tile the shower ourselves and maybe do a small glass partition (to separate the toilet) but otherwise leave it open - not even sure this is feasible! We also priced in-floor heating and it was reasonably priced, but again uncertain of doing this ourselves. After weeks of having plumbers cancel on us because they're too busy, we *may* have found one who's coming to look and quote us on moving the plumbing for the vanity and also convert tub to shower. Any advice appreciated!!

It seems that you have to widen the space in your bathroom to make more organized.

Hi, mlwoodland! Exciting that you're doing a bathroom reno. I'm not sure about installing heated flooring yourself, but I've heard lots about Nuheat: http://www.nuheat.com/home.html
In this online TV episode Cameron re-did a small bathroom and the glass-enclosed shower made the space seem roomier: http://houseandhome.com/tv/segment/small-bathroom-makeover

It would be nice to see a floor plan or dimensions of the rooms...
My first advice would be removing radiator and installing heated floor...as you planned already... I would hang on glass seperation, just live with your bathroom few weeks and see how it feels...you can install glass anytime...
Hi mlwoodland, it's not completely clear just looking at the pictures. Seems like there's a small room right beside the sink on the right when you open the door, where is the other small room with the ironing board located ?
