My sweet 83 yr old neighbor gives me rhubarb every year...last week his wife made me a jar of stewed rhubarb & to-day he brought over a bunch of fresh picked and cleaned rhubarb....I guess I'll be making pies tomorrow....We love rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream.....Sometimes I add strawberries to it.

Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie - This is  relatively new love for me, but the combination of the sweet strawberries and the tart rhubarb is an absolutely perfect balance. A great pie to make after a trip to the orchard.

hummm it seems that blueberries pie is on top of them all, so the rhubarb ones.

for me, it is the Peanut Butter Pie.  It's a success every time I serve it, without compliments.

But forget ur régime ....very rich! Sorry!

Oh real wild blueberries... yum. That is one thing we don't have here (unless you buy them frozen) and I just love them. I don't know what they have here but they are four times the size and not even close in taste or staining power as real wild blueberries.

I bet blueberry and sour cream or blueberry and creamcheese pie would be really good.

My DH loves picking berries and to date have made 4 blueberry pies. Wild blueberries!!! Thank heavens, I'm not a blueberry pie lover but he is. It's in the New Brunswick genes. Now, I have a receipe for sour cream blueberry pie which I know I will love but he states I will ruin the pie. Will let you know. LOL

My favorite pie is key lime with graham cracker crust. Yummy :bliss: :bliss:
When I am feeling very enrgized I make my own key lime filling from scratch.
My dh's favorite one is strawberry rhubarb, has to have the double pastry crust.
That's alright though has he needs some weight on him.
He brought me a big bunch of rhubarb yesterday from our wood lot. So
i will be busy in the kitchen. :D

Raspberry and lemon are right at the top of the list. I like almost everything except raisin, blueberry & coconut cream. It isn't that I don't like these ingredients, I just don't like them in pie.

What's with the price of a pre-made graham pie shell - $2.99? The ingredients sure are simple and don't cost much. I do make my own but it is definitely easier to have a pre-done crust.

I think Rhubarb is my favourite but I like it mostly as a crumble with vanilla ice cream yum. I will make lemon with the graham crust as I usually keep themin the pantry and it is DH's fav. A really good apple with sharp cheddar cheese is hard to beat.

Yum, rhubarb. I love love love rhubarb chutney with steak. Heaven. My grand dad always used to get us a stock and a little bowl of sugar for dipping and send us outside to make faces as we tried to see who could eat it without sugar on it. Such tests of bravery were almost as good was when his peas and carrots were ready for picking and eating right in the garden. I used to like visiting my grand dad and his garden. This is the first house I've ever had without a rhubarb plant and I miss it.

As for pie.. strawberry and rhubarb are right up there. I also like lemon pie with the graham wafer crust.
